Alechin, one of the 20th century’s most brilliant chess Grand Masters, used
to suggest two different game and attack strategies to throw his opponent into
confusion. But at the same time he would prepare a third one without drawing
attention to himself, and it was with this latter strategy that he dispatched
his opponent in his own unrivalled style; a slow enticement into a one way tunnel,
then a swift and inexorable finishing stroke… He was great! We also give one
or more explanations, more or less rational, of what happens around us, not
taking into account the fact that almost every time there’s one more explanation
which usually is that which reflects reality…
